Wider Church – Eden-Tay Cluster
Edenshead is one of five charges forming the Eden Tay Cluster.
To the North is Lindores Parish Church (A Union of Newburgh and Abdie churches)
To the East is The Howe of Fife Parish Church (covering the geographical areas of Collessie, Ladybank, Kingskettle and Cults)
To the South are the linked charges of Falkland and Freuchie Parish Churches.
Wider Church – Nationally
The General Assembly in 2019 began a process if implementing change by introducing The Radical Plan. It is very clear that the church must keep up with the ever-changing world in which we find ourselves. It is also essential to recognise that the Status Quo is not an option. Here in Edenshead we are keen to embrace change and our involvement with our Cluster group is a step in the right direction as we work together.
Messy Church
Messy Church is a happy event open to all parents and grandparents of youngsters aged from 6months upwards. It usually takes place on occasional Saturdays between 3.00 and 5.00pm on the Church Hall. The format is very informal and has periods of practical craft activities followed by a Bible story and finally a simple communal sit-down meal.
Guild
Auchtermuchty Church Guild is a long-established group serving the church faithfully and always following the current Guild project. They fundraise extremely well and share the income with deserving causes. The Guild meetings feature many interesting speakers and everyone is made very welcome.
Coffee Mornings
Church coffee mornings are always well attended both in Auchtermuchty and Strathmiglo. These regular events are an excellent time to catch up, meet new friends and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee. Of course, there is always home baking and jams, a groaning raffle table and often a tombola as well. These happy times help greatly with raising much needed church funds.
Bible Society of Scotland
Edenshead Church supports this important work by regular fundraising.
Overseas
Some years ago, Auchtermuchty church established a link with the church in Namadze in Malawi. There were several exchange visits and friendships were made. Due to a change of personnel, this link has now diminished slightly
History of Edenshead Parish Church
In September 2018 the two linked parishes of Auchtermuchty and Edenshead & Strathmiglo happily united to become Edenshead Parish Church of Scotland. Edenshead Parish includes the settlements of Auchtermuchty, Dunshalt, Strathmiglo and Gateside as well as many smaller settlements and farms. We are bounded to the east by Howe of Fife Parish, to the south by Falkland Parish and to the north by Lindores Parish.
